Solo - Eva

Game design: a 3D first person game in which the player have to actively breath.

Inspiration: This comes from my experience of living in a heavy polluted area for a while to which might have impair my respiratory system. Thinking back to it, I did not realize how precious and important just clean air is until breathing becomes a luxury. The biggest game design idea is I want to emphasize how basic but omnipresent is the action of breathing.

Current progress: I have done a fair amount of research on the situation, policy, and actions on environments in general, and also specifically about air pollutions. (I found the Green New Deal for Public Schools really interesting). I was specifically searching about air pollutions in the area I live in, and unsurprisingly found it to be an entangled questions. I still need to work out the complementary part of the gameplay, which is something I hope I can figure out in the prototype sprint.

Current Control: *I am still testing out controllers* As for key board, WASD to move, B to breath. If not breath for a certain amount of time, screen edge dims which requires N and M to cough. I am slow on programming so I hope to get something done over this weekend. For controller, supposing either trigger to breath and both bumpers to cough.
